Horseback Riding

Horseback Riding

Today, we traveled about an hour to go horseback riding. It was an intermediate ride that lasted about two and a half hours and was in a rockier area than the last time I rode down there. The first half an hour was a bit rough but I got the hang of it and was more comfortable in the middle part. However, by the end, my saddle was starting to twist to the right. I had been leaning the entire time and it started to show!

Hayes

Hayes

My horse was named Hayes and he liked to eat. I had to pull his head up a few times so he wouldn't eat the plants on the trail. Twice he tried to eat my shoe.

Our Wrangler, Carl, took our picture in the middle of the ride.

We saw 5-6 deer along the trail. I didn't have my zoom lens so this is digital zoom (which I usually don't use).

GPS Map

GPS Map

I found this neat app for my iPhone that will create a GPX file of your location. I ran the app during the walk with an accuracy of 3 meters and it only used up 16% of my battery. Before the walk, I synced my camera and iPhone's time and using a bridge plugin, I was able to get the locations of each of my photos. In the past, some locations were guesses between points, but this is more accurate.
