April 12th, 2023
I’m the morning we had breakfast before exploring Thessaloniki. The hotel had a decent breakfast.
We started the exploration by walking along the pier. It stretched for many miles along the coast. In this photo you can see the White Tower which we would explore later on.
White Tower
We walked up to the White Tower but didn’t go in this time. When we got there Stelios had called and they were ready to meet up.
Neighborhood
We had coffee at a small craft coffee place while Andrea and Stelios came.
We started making our way inward and away from the sea. The city has a hill that we were making our way up. As we would walk, we would see different archeological sites that we would stop at, including this one.
Thessaloniki is a huge metropolis and there was a small cut through the buildings that went all the way up the hill. This was the path we took during our exploration. As we hiked we could turn back and see how far we had gone.
Around 12pm we stopped for lunch. Noon is a bit early for a Greek lunch so we were the only ones in the place.
While the others were finishing up lunch I took Milo to a park nearby to play.
When we got a bit farther up, the roads became very windy and had a lot of steps. We had to reroute a different way for the stroller.
These steps would make the hike much longer as we had to find a way around them.
Stelios and I wandered around the old castle.
Milo took a nap in the middle of it!
