At 11 pm we went to the Church that Irene's grandmother attends to, to get the holy light. The flame comes from the cave in Jeruluseum where Jesus was resurrected. The fire is said to light itself every Easter, and earlier in the day it was transported from Jeruluseum to Cyprus.
Everyone came to the church with candles, and the light was passed out around midnight. Many people were outside because of the number of people that attended. The crowd dispersed after the light was passed out and many people took it home in covered candles.
