Beer Dinner
This evening we invited Cedric, Becky and Jake over for a beer dinner to celebrate my birthday. I had been saving some beer and I decided taht now would be a good time to open up some of them.
Dishes
We had some issues with our dishes and have been working with Lenox to correct the issue. Yesterday we received a large shipment from them with some replacements.
Fondue
As the main course we had fondue, which paired well with the beers that were selected and brought.
Friek
The first beer we had was Friek from Odells. They have brewed this beer three times and I had been hanging onto this bottle from the first batch. The story about this beer is that the owner of Odells received some cherrys that he put in the warehouse and completely forgot about. A few years later a worker found them and inquired about them.
75 minute
The second beer we had was the 75 Minute IPA from Dogfish Head.
Woodcut #3
Woodcut #3 was the other beer that I provided for the tasting. This is by far my favorite beer. It was brewed back in 2009 and sells for about $25 a bottle. Michelle bought me a bottle of it for valentine's day a few years back and I have just been sitting on it. I would have spilt it with Michelle, but it is not a style she enjoys.
Bourbon County Stout
The finally beer of the night was Bourbon County Stout from Goose Island. Goose Island was bought by Budweiser's parent company in the last few years but this bottle was from before the sale.
As tradition, we got photos of the line up at the end.
The line up a the end.
