Eldora

Eldora

I was planning on skiing Copper today, but I wasn"t sure if there was going to be construction on I70. I have 3 days left on my Copper pass, and I had 2 days left on my Eldora pass. On the drive into Greeley (to drop Michelle off at work) I debated with myself which would be the better option. After dropping Michelle off I realized that I had forgotten my wallet at home.

I decided that I would try out the black runs at Eldora.

I skied the back area the entire time and had a blast. The big issue with Eldora is that it is only at 9000 feet and the snow usually melts or is slushy.

The first few runs were tough because the snow was still icy from freezing at night. It got up to 45 degrees today so once it started melting a little bit it was great. At 11 o'clock, about one hour into skiing, I had taken off my coat as was skiing in my snow pants and a turtleneck.

I skied until about 1 o'clock, at which point the snow had melted a little too much and became too slushy.

I had a good time, and not having to drive I70 was a HUGE plus! I think I will probably get a 3 pass to Eldora again next year.
