Allegro Coffee Tour
Today I went down to Allegro Coffee in Thorton with the UNC Marketing team. We got a full tour of the facility and learned about the origin of coffee and the basics.
I brought my DSLR down, but I left the battery in the charger at my office, so all the photos were taken with my iPhone.
Cooling
After the beans are roasted, they are dumped into a giant "plate" (as seen in the top photo) and the arms spin to cool the beans down.
Roasting Machine
This is the entire roasting machine.
Decaf
Allegro uses the Swiss Water Process to decaffeinate their coffee.
On a side note, this is the 2000th photo for my photo blog! There has only been 1641 days represented, but because of days like today, with multiple photos, the number is now over 2000!
Small Roasters
These small roasters are used each day by the quality control department. They will roast coffee from new and prospect suppliers.
Quality Control
The QC team tastes the coffee that was roasted the previous day to make sure it meets standards.
