Range Installation
This weekend Michelle and I bought appliances for the new house. All but the range had problems.
Microwave
We found the microwave on clearance because it had been damaged during a previous installation. According to the paperwork, it had a damaged grill that had been fixed. It didn't have a box but all the pieces looked to be there. The problem was that the support beam that connected to the wall didn't go with this microwave. I think we will return it today or tomorrow and get a new one.
Dishwasher
In a normal house there is an electrical box that the dishwasher connects directly into. In our house, we have an outlet under the sink. After reading the instructions a few times and making two trips to Lowes we decided to just have someone install it for us. They had a mail-in-rebate for the installation and with both Plumbing and Electrical, it will just be easier to have someone else do it.
Refrigerator
The opening for the refrigerator is smaller than the normal size refrigerator. We looked at all the retailers and no one had one in stock that was in Stainless. So, we have a fridge coming, although the expected delivery date is in January. We may be getting a mini-fridge to use now that will eventually go up in the loft.
